We would be really interested in any moving images that you may have regarding the Leicestershire section of the M1 or LFE from the 1960s or early 1970s.  We found these in a variety of places.

1. Footage of the Captain’s Table in short film by Hairy Bikers on 1960s service areas

2. The demolition of Garendon Hall in advance of the construction of the M1

3.  The construction of sections of the Leicestershire M1

This one is from the Media Archive for Central England (MACE) based at the University of Lincoln

4. New police radar being used on Leicestershire M1 in 1965

5. and just for fun, here is an excellent clip of a young Stewart Lee telling a great gag set at LFE.
